The museum is housed in the former Saroléa motorcycle factory, the old centre of Herstal industry at the beginning of the 20th century. This building witnessed all Herstal's technical and social developments, and changes in working conditions. Converted today into a working museum, this old industrial site has come to life again, not as a factory but as an active cultural and educational centre. There are two themed displays linked to the site: the Saroléa Museum and the Museum of Herstal and the age of great inventions.
